"I'm sure you have a guess..." Shane said, all happiness gone and replaced by that same quiet tone. Being who she was, instead of stating it simply, she was going to have to explain every last detail and drag it out.
"Elliot. That's who he is." She paused to take a breath and then continued. "Obviously you remember the last time we met and that night - well, for the most part it was pretty normal. And then you left and uh...I went to Germany for almost a year. Well, I came here. Not even my parents knew why and almost no one knows I actually have...a son."
She stopped again, but this time she just looked at Kevin. His reaction would be the most difficult part to deal with. She knew it wasn't a good thing that she'd never told him, but he wasn't there anyway. Maybe she didn't expect things to change now, maybe she didn't even hope for it, but at least now he'd know. Right?
"Well, we. I don't know why it's so difficult to say. You have a kid - a son. We do. He's ours."
