Clearly, he was going to have to spell it out. Terrence wasn't used to explaining himself verbally, he was used to his actions speaking for themselves. He hadn't had to spell it out for Weasley, but then, Weasley had gotten much more used to people like him, he supposed, whose motivations were not always clear cut.
"Katie," he said, "I want to live in a world where no one's trying to control me, where I don't see people who are being controlled everywhere I turn. What I would have done if that wasn't the case doesn't matter anymore. As strange as it sounds, everything I've done is to find my own freedom. I don't expect you to understand that, but it's the truth."
He leaned forward and rested his head in his hands, fingers curling in his hair for a moment before he lifted his head again. Having his head bowed even for a moment felt wrong, despite the fact that he was frustrated beyond belief. "There are people fighting. They attacked me, remember? You have the option to join them, now."
