Zach was mildly surprised when he heard Tracey speak. She seemed about the farthest from wanting to talk as anyone he'd pushed for gossip before. And he was trying his hardest to think about what he was doing, saying, whatnot, before he did it, for her sake, for Theo. Merlin knew he normally didn't, and it felt weird. But if it helped, it helped.
But he could answer questions. He knew more about unbreakable charms than probably anyone he knew. He had taken the lead on this project, as Gilbert worked on something else. And that...meant he knew a lot. "It is possible, with certain kinds of magic," Zach answered simply first, in case he lost them later on. He was able to ramble on, and they hadn't the theoretical background on it. "I haven't found a way to do so without using magic or trying to use magic without a wand." That had been a weird day. But Zach was up for trying a lot of crazy things for work. Or fun.
"There were a couple of reports of it happening," Zach explained, "that's why we looked into it. It's a very good charm, does its job. Perhaps it would be easier for someone with more raw power than me, but that person might not have the focus. It takes...a really hard combination - power, focus, and the right kind of magic. It took weeks to make any headway at understanding what we'd been told."
He took a small sip of tea. "That was probably more than you wanted to know," Zach meant as a small apology, "I just know a lot about the spells I work on."
