"Hey," he said as he attempted to put on a smile for her. He was going to be pleasant, or he was going to try. It wasn't her fault that people were keeping things from him. He just needed to remember that. It was just hard to smile with every thought that was running through his head.
He took a step inside, his hands shuffling into his coat pockets, and turned to look at her. "Thank you for letting me swing 'round," he said, hovering close to the door. He wasn't sure where they'd be talking so he was going to follow her lead.
