Ron frowned as T kept talking. It definitely sounded like they were both talking about Horcruxes, at this point—but was ‘T’s gift simply informing him of their existence, or was he trying to drop a more substantial hint? Ron was also still bothered by the question of how T had found out about the Horcruxes . . . it didn’t seem very likely that he was their other mystery informant, he would have contacted him through the Doe in that case rather than go through all this. Was the Dark Bastard being sloppier about his secret, or were more of his Death Eaters in the know about his deep secret than Dumbledore had led Harry to believe.
“A person?” Ron was genuinely surprised by that suggestion; it wasn’t something they’d considered. And the idea deeply unnerved him, though he couldn't quite put his finger on why--beyond the general creepiness of anything involving Horcruxes, of course. “Maybe . . . why not a pet, then?” This last, of course, being one of their current suspicions about the Dark Bastard’s snake; Dumbledore had seemed pretty certain about that, at least, according to Harry . . . "Be easier to keep around, certainly. 'course, if it was an object you'd want it hidden somewhere."
