Millicent really didn't know what to say to that. She agreed that it ruined the charm of Christmas to have everything decorated all month, but that presupposed that there was a charm to Christmas. Millicent had yet to enjoy the holiday, though maybe if she celebrated it with Bayleigh, she would see what the big deal was.
"I hate mint," she said. "Even mint candy, even when it's shaped like a cane."
She actually liked canes, a lot. And the idea of candy canes wasn't a bad one, but why did they have to be mint? She hadn't even tried the alternative flavors, because the mint spoiled it for her.
Setting the bag down by the fire, she unpacked the blanket and pillow and set them aside, then looked at what was inside. "Where do we start?"
