Millicent supposed she could get behind the idea of alternative celebrations. She didn't like holidays in general, had no good associations with them at all so far, but this wasn't so bad. She had yet to find anything wrong with spending time with Bayleigh, because no matter how few words she used or how grumpy she might have seemed, Bayleigh always seemed excited to see her. And she actually did hold up her side of the conversation, sometimes, which was rare.
"Chocolate's okay," she said, agreeably enough. She had never really gone in much for indulging in sweets - or any sort of indulgence at all, honestly - but she did like the taste of them well enough. Sweet tastes were better than the ridiculous, toothache-inducing sweetness of the rest of the season. "They always have decorations up all bloody month. Drives me mad."
Mostly because she saw no point in dragging out the torture anymore than was strictly necessary. But everyone else seemed to enjoy it, which only made it worse. Millicent hated people even more than usual this season.
She moved into the flat, closing the door behind Bayleigh to keep the heat in - even though she didn't mind cold herself, it was warm in here with the fire in the hearth. "If chocolate really were the point of Christmas I guess it wouldn't be that bad."
