She smiled just faintly at his response. It was nice knowing that they had the same problem when it came to sleeping apart.
Dora listened to all his words with her eyes slightly wide, silent as she took in everything he was saying. Then finally, she replied, "No, Remus." One hand slid around from his back, moving up to clench lightly in the fabric of his shirt as the other slipped under his chin, tipping it up so that he could meet her eyes. "You're not selfish. Or if you are, then maybe we both are, because I want you to stay with me." She sighed. "It isn't about you letting me risk everything for you. Remus, even without you, I risk my life daily when I go to work. I do it for the cause, for the Order, for our friends, for Harry and Ron and Hermione, just like you do."
She paused, holding his gaze; her heart was in her throat and all her emotions flashed through her eyes. "But I would always choose to risk my own life for you, too, Remus. Every day. You are so incredibly important to me, now. I would do anything to keep you safe, I would do anything just to be with you. I would rather be with you than be 'safer', even if me being safe were possible, because I don't ever want you to leave me. I don't ever want to lose you. Because I love you, Remus Lupin."
