Tonks had already been half-awake, the sensation of Remus leaving bed having stirred her from her deeper sleep. But it was the sound of the chair slamming downstairs that jolted her straight awake. She sat up in bed, heart pounding and her hand flying to her chest. Her eyes were wide as she scanned the room. "Remus? What-" She heard the door slamming downstairs and in a second she was leaping out of bed, bare feet slapping against the cold floors. Something was wrong, something had happened. Was it Remus? Was it the Death Eaters? Had they found them? her heard pounded in her chest, but she managed to control her panic. Tonks was dressed only in her pajamas, long pink jersey bottoms with a matching t-shirt, but she didn't bother to grab anything else except her wand as she hurried downstairs.
Wand in her hand, hair flaming red to match her heightened emotions, Tonks moved through the house as quickly and carefully as she could. Her eyes glanced over the knocked-over chair where it lay in front of the cabinets, and then flicked over to the door. She thought maybe she had an idea what had happened; she knew Remus well enough to now that she'd been able to sense the emotions building up within him. But there was still a chance that something had gone wrong, and it was that possibility that had her heart racing as she moved to the doorway and carefully made her way outside.
When she saw Remus working his way through the trees, slamming her fists into the trees, she exhaled a deep, slow breath. Just in case, she kept her wand clenched in her fist, but she held it down at her sides as she made her way towards him. "Remy? What's wrong?"
