"Yes, things have changed. They have gotten worse," he said, with emphasis on the word. His frown melted away and all he could do was look upon her with sadness. He wished he was brave enough to risk himself to help her break away from the thralls of the potion. He truly wished he was.
"I think it is best if I leave." He shut his eyes and glanced now at the ground. Fuck, did this hurt. He was always hurting someone. "No...no. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that...I came to meet you because of your kindness and I've been terribly mean. I'd be quite disheartened if we stopped speaking," he looked up at her.
