"Oh I bet he is useful," he said with a bit of sarcasm in his tone. He uncrossed his arms, frowning more as she spoke. The way she spoke about the other 'dangerous werewolf' made his blood run cold. It was how the Ministry was tailoring the society to view him. As he listened, he had clear evidence as to why he didn't go out anymore. Perhaps he'd keep this in mind the next time he went stir crazy.
He was biting down on his lip as her words continued. "The Ministry said that the Dark Lord wasn't back, as well. Do you remember that? Years ago, they claimed Albus Dumbledore was insane, that Harry Potter was a liar. And what did we learn, not long after? That the Ministry was wrong. The Ministry could be wrong now, for all we know. We shouldn't be blindly following in their example," he stated, defending himself as best he could, though he tried not to give away just who he was. Up on high, he could hear the sound of a bird chirping loudly, as if trying to get attention. He frowned, knowing he was getting too close to information he could not talk about.
"Because the Ministry is flawed." That was all he could say on the subject now. He didn't want to give her anymore information to help her realize who he was. Tonks had blocked memories of him, as he had her during his brief stint on the potion, and their time together in the Order. He wondered if it was the same for her and her time under his tutelage. He could recall, if he thought hard, a quiet girl who would grow up into the woman standing in front of him. His frown did not waver.
He couldn't tell her anymore. He just couldn't. "I should go. You've been nothing but kind to me and this is how I am repaying you. I am sorry," he quickly stated, sighing heavily, as he avoided the question about Fred.
