"This is King," Patience said with a grin. She scratched King's ears, and his mouth opened in a pleased wolfish grin. "My sister and I adopted a couple of dogs before the last full - I felt like having one around. He comes with me just about everywhere, now."
She held out the basket she was holding, eager to see him open it. Giving gifts, especially care packages, was so much fun, especially when she got to see the pleased look on people's faces as they opened it. It was incredibly rewarding.
"I've been doing really well! I love this time of year, there's so much for me to do. Harvesting and baking and weaving and exploring all the places that look so different when the leaves change and fall off. When there's snow, it's even better!"
She said all this at a happy, slightly breathless pace, grinning at him. King stepped forward, sniffing her friend, and Patience smiled indulgently at him. "Do you know if dogs can smell werewolves? I think he knows something is up with me, but I don't know if that's just because he was around me near the full."
