For the smallest of moments, Terrence thought he saw that silver lining on the horizon. It was terrible news for her, yes, but if she could be legitimately angry, if she could do something about the fact that the Ministry and the Death Eaters had gotten her parents killed, if she could use the awful information (a truth she would have to face at some point) to help her, that would be a good thing, right?
But then he could literally hear the potion's influence in her words, the return to believing in the Ministry, denying the truth instead. And a moment later he realized that she had never really believed that the Ministry could be responsible for something as horrible as her mother's death in the first place, the most doubt she could summon was that they had falsified the information. Fuck.
"I can't," he said, looking her intently, his hand still on her shoulder. "I won't lie to you. I'm sorry."
