Terrence wasn't sure if trust was what they were aiming for. Though, it was probably important to Weasley, so maybe that should be their goal. Why should anyone trust them, though? He didn't consider himself a trustworthy person in general, nor was Ella. He didn't even call what he had with Ella 'trust', so much as mutual understanding.
That said, he had been attempting to deceive the redheaded rebel. He didn't really want to announce their status as Death Eaters, not because it would throw a wrench in their plan, but because this was supposed to be about getting away from the Marks on their arms. He should have expected Weasley wouldn't fall for it, though - probably because he already had convinced himself that anyone who came after him from the wizarding world had to be a Death Eater.
"Everyone in England is flying under the skull and cross bones," he pointed out, which was true enough. "These days, you can be a minion or a mindless sheep, or you can get creative. What we're doing right here would look an awful lot like mutiny, though, no matter how much protection we've got. Probably worse for us now if we were part of the crew rather than the cargo, actually." He raised an eyebrow at Ron. "You going to try telling us you wouldn't take advantage of a couple of mutinous seafarers, even if it's a bit risky?"
He grinned, wondering if Ella had caught on to the meaning of the language they were using. He and Weasley had an established rapport and references that they could use that she hadn't been present for, but she had always been good at understanding everything that Terrence meant, even when it required reading between the lines.
