They were trying to put him at ease, Ron could tell, "T" in particular kept coming around to their past business dealings, to keep him reassured. Ron wasn't falling for it, though, there was no reason to trust these two beyond the fact they hadn't killed him yet, and there were any number of other reasons he could think of why they hadn't. Viva la revolucion . . . they kept coming 'round to that particular phrase. Were they looking for more information on whatever resistance there was to the Ministry? But if that were the case, why hadn't the little brunette just ripped it from his brain?
"I think you know what I mean. You say you set the Ministry goons on the wrong trail, but that means you were in a position to do so, which puts you on the inside. Especially if you knew enough to know when they'd traced the journal. As for the gun and the rest of it, I reckon the black market angle's a lot easier to work if you've got the right sort of protection, and it's not like either of us were acting under our own name. That's a lot of positions to be taking advantage of, and only one position I can think of would put you there." Casting back to their most recent meeting, he added, "So you're going to try telling me you two don't fly under the old skull and cross bones, then?"
