"You'd have to escape me before you had to worry about her," Terrence said with a slightly dark glint in his eyes, but there was still a smile on his face. "But I didn't think that was an actual pick-up line. I just never miss innuendo, ever."
Which was because he had a dirty and easily entertained mind, of course. A few months ago, he would have just laughed at it, without considering it even vaguely close to a threat. That was before he'd become aware of how crazy the world actually was, and Ella had become his center of gravity, the only thing he could completely depend on. Thankfully, she was all he needed.
"Mate, you have not lived until you've been in a fight," Terrence said. "You don't even have to be fighting for your life. The adrenaline rush is incredible." There was almost nothing he loved more than a physical fight. Just one thing that he could think of at the moment, and doing that with Ella was more like fighting than it was for most people, anyway. "I'll show you sometime. Though, if you want to learn an actual martial art or something, I'm not the one to teach you. I just go by my instincts."
