It really hadn't been intended as a challenge, or an insult. Terrence did have standards of fun-ness for the people he hung out with, but even if Fletcher had been utterly boring otherwise, his willingness to use homemade Muggle weapons to shoot at painted Muggles was a completely redeeming quality.
Maybe he'd just wanted to get him back a little for using surprise for amusement at Terrence's expense. Neither little joke had been particularly damning, he didn't think.
And being able to take a joke was definitely a good thing. He grinned. "Absolutely," he said. "I'd say we should skip planning and just go and do it right now, but I'm not done here for the night. Why don't we round them up and paint them together, too? That's half the fun."
