Ella would not have been surprised that Terrence had notice her approach, they seemed to always know precisely where the other was without even trying. Any plan she'd had to continue speaking nonchalantly was quickly railroaded as he hand went to her--his--tie. The corners of her lips turned upward as she locked her eyes on his. Sod the party, giving into their thoughts seemed a much better alternative. And, really, who was going to miss them? The Minister might not take too kindly to the things that were running through her overactive imagination happening in his own study, but what Barty Crouch did not know would not hurt him.
Ella's hand reached up and her fingers wrapped around Terrence's, tugging easily on the tie in his hand so that it tightened ever-so-slightly around her neck. She would have been perfectly content with finding the nearest wall, but sneaking off seemed equally appealing and, really, the means didn't matter so much as the end.
