Who: Chastity & Barty What: She's being a polite guest and saying hello to her boss! Where: The Gala at Barty's Manor. When: Saturday Evening Warnings: IDK! (my bff jill.) Status: In Progress.
Chastity had arrived at the ball alongside Patience, but after a little while they'd both decided to go their separate ways and mingle. Though Chas wasn't always the most sociable of people at times, most of those present at the party were those she didn't mind being around, if she had to. So she managed to pass the time, striking up casual conversations.
Occasionally, her eyes had drifted to Barty, wondering if she should go say hello. After all, she had to admit in the back of her mind that half the reason she'd taken pains with her appearance tonight was to... make a good impression with him. Yes. And she knew she'd managed that, or at least she assumed she had from the number of appreciative looks she'd earned from other men throughout the evening. The dress certainly gave her confidence (not that she needed it) with the way it clung to her curves. (It helped as well that the feeling of her knife strapped to her thigh gave her even more confidence somehow.) For the first hour or so, though, she managed to resist the urge to approach Barty, choosing instead to mingle and, yes, to have quite a few drinks.
After his announcement an hour into the party, though, Chas found she couldn't quite resist the draw. The urge to comment on the appearance of his daughter was a draw, yes, but the amount of liquor she'd consumed was also encouraging her. She was in no way drunk, just feeling quite a bit more spontaneous. And so, glass of champagne in hand, she made her way across the floor to Barty, catching him in a rare moment of being alone. "Hello, Boss," Chas said warmly, giving him a smile that was a bit more smirk than anything else.
