She ignored the fact that her sister had said never mind, and continued softly, "We could have been a little family, the three of us. You and I taking care of him, and watching over him while he ran around and stuck his nose in everything and made up games, and built forts until the dining room table..." She smiled at that, actually smiled thinking about him for the first time in a long time. She could remember the last time he'd done that, how he'd convinced her to crawl under the table with him and play in the fort. It was the last time she could remember ever playing, ever having fun the way children did.
