"Perhaps..." Hermione trailed, then shook her head, but her thoughts were already going to several possibilities that (equally) made her skin crawl. "If V...You-Know-Who is able to get into their minds, then they must be in contact with something we are not. And... Harry, I know you don't want me to yell at you, but you shouldn't... if you put yourself in contact with the others before we find out what it is, there is chance you could be... well... exposed..." It was the only solution Hermione could come up with. After all, they were the only three that had been completely isolated from the rest - right? There could be others, but they hadn't run into them.
Not that Hermione wasn't aware of Ron's escapades and now Harry's daring encounter, but if there were consequences then, as of yet, they hadn't materialized.
"Either way, we should move. I don't think it's safe... not after Ron... and now you..." Hermione's voice shook again, and she took a deep breath to steady herself. "We're too close to being caught, Harry."
