Ron wasn't surprised by either Hermione's abrupt entrance (although slightly amused she still felt the need to knock first), or by the bluntness of her inquiry. He waited for Harry to explain the bare bones of the plan, before voicing his own thoughts.
"Fourteen days . . . does make this a bit riskier. The main thing is stalling for time. Not ideal, but it's the best option we have at this point, aside from just doing nothing. Crouch might even slip up a bit, let on more than he means to." Not that Ron had much hope of that.
"But I think for this to work we need a second set of journals, one just for ourself, one sooner the better. And maybe an extra, just to take apart, see if we can suss out how the things actually work."
