Roger had spent the morning preparing for Patience's arrival. There was no easel, since he would only be starting with a sketch today, but he had set up his favorite chair, with his large pad of sketch paper and some pencils on top of it. He'd also set up some of the things he'd need for the pose he had in mind, which include a bow and arrow, and the fabric he was planning on asking her to wear.
His flat was one big room, with white walls that were covered in his own art, hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings. Everything was visible from wherever you stood, the bedroom at one end, the kitchen and living area in the middle, and the large studio nearest the door. Which meant he could hear her knock even in the kitchen area, where he'd been leaning up against the counter sipping a glass of water.
Setting the glass down, he made his way barefoot across the room. If he'd been painting today, he probably would have been shirtless as well, but since it was just sketching, he wore jeans and a comfortable blue tee. Pulling open the door, he ran his fingers through his messy hair and grinned. "Hey, gorgeous. Well to Chez Davies!"
