It had been a while since Terrence had pulled a really good prank - hadn't done them much since school, actually, because he wasn't forced to live in proximity with a bunch of idiots who were much more entertaining when they were mortified - but pulling one off tonight made him feel incredibly like himself again. It wasn't just that, either - he could tell that the potion which had been controlling his mind was nearly gone, and his subconscious had made easy work of what was left. Right now, while the Mark on his arm wasn't burning, and he wasn't carrying out orders, he was free for the first time in years.
It felt good. Really damn good.
In his amusement over the wand, he'd forgotten about the tattoo just for the moment, though it had been on his mind all night, and he was fairly sure it would have occurred to him again even if Duke hadn't mentioned it.
"Yeah," he said, breathless with laughter and wiping away tears of mirth. "Actually, no. First let's drop off these clothes somewhere, hang 'em from a flag pole or something. Then let's get me a tattoo."
