Duke wasn't one for waiting around so immediately after making these loose plans with Terrence, he'd apparated to the Tavern and ordered a beer. It was light enough to keep him sober for a few rounds since he did want to save the harder stuff for 'celebrating' but it was a good start. Already he had a few friends whom he'd just met, though most of them knew who he was (which made them have to be nice and hang out with him, but he knew there was always deeper incentives).
Though this wasn't all for celebrating. Honestly, Duke didn't think taking the Mark was anything to celebrate. The only thing to be happy about was getting someone cool and amusing to party with who was also on his side of things. But a drink was necessary, regardless. It helped take the edge off all the secrets and problems and essentially giving your life over. But Terrence, like him, didn't seem like one to follow strict rules and authority unless your life was really on the line. So maybe it was a good thing.
When he saw Terrence enter, Duke held his drink up and shouted over at him, which got his little group yelling too, even though they didn't know Terrence. Duke ordered more drinks and moved over so that the two of them could start off alone and get the ball rolling.
