Wilber was a name Serafina hadn't thought of, and it had an appeal, but she didn't think it suited her pet. She smiled when Daphne immediately retracted her suggestion, understanding that it was difficult. She'd had the pup for over a week now - was it more than two weeks, even? - and she hadn't thought of one that she liked.
"Maybe I'll stop by a bookstore and get a book of names that might actually suit him, unlike the genealogy books I have at home," she said. She was breaking away from conventional pets for a woman of her status, giving the pup a traditional name would just be odd. "And you know, I really have no idea. I don't know what breed he is - there are quite a few surprises in my future with this one, I'm sure."
She laughed and then delicately ate a bit of her croissant, before following it with a sip of coffee. "He does make for an interesting conversation piece, I'll give him credit for that. But we shouldn't focus on him so much, if he gets too much of an ego he'll end up enormous."
With a grin, she folded her hands in her lap, relaxed and comfortable. "How is your family, and how has your business been going? Blaise and I have been traveling so much - although not together - and I feel a bit out of touch."
