Theodore grinned when Blaise laughed, glad that he'd managed to ease the tension, even though he wasn't entirely sure what the problem was. But then he sobered a little, because he hadn't realized it was against Blaise's wishes that he notify his mother.
"You're my patient," he said. "And you're of age, so if you refuse to give me permission to inform her, I can't. When you didn't say anything, I assumed - but I shouldn't have. I'll explain that to her."
This whole thing had made him feel much less professional than he normally did in situations as a healer, but house calls were unusual. He didn't mind making them, being a personal healer rather than hospital staff, but it would take some getting used to.
