Who: Terrence Higgs and Jillian Bagnold (NPC)
What: Weekly Check-In, London Branch
When: Thursday Afternoon
Where: London Branch of the Ministry of Magic Check-In Offices
Warnings: TBD.
It was a boring job but someone had to do it. That was pretty much the thought that had landed Jillian in this job, in this office, six days a week. Her mother, Millicent, had been the Minister of Magic before Fudge, before Crouch after him and this job was the closest Jillian could get to living up to her mother's glory. In all honesty, she'd taken the job because she was able to get paid for doing the Prophet crossword puzzles while she waited for her appointments to show up and asked, "How do you think our Minister is doing? And the Dark Lord? What would you improve if given the opportunity?" She found the whole thing pointless, but at least she occasionally she met interesting characters.
Like right now. She was waiting for one Terrence Higgs to make an appearance in her office and had been doing so on a weekly basis for the past four years. Meeting with him never failed to be entertaining, not least because he seemed to find the whole protocol as useless as she did. While the job paid her bills, however, she wasn't going to question it. At least she knew that on Thursday afternoons, she'd be subjected to enough snark to get her through the next two days and on into her weekend, a whole day off, where she could pretend like her work life did not exist.
Hm. Thirteen letter word for hippogryff's love song. The crosswords were getting more ridiculous by the day. Still, it was better than pretending like she'd ever be Minister of Magic like Millicent the Magnificent.
