Fred knew one thing for certain: George would have nagged him endlessly if he'd holed up and become this depressed version of himself while George was still alive. The thought stung, but not nearly as much as the thought that he might be letting Georgie down. As such, he'd decided to try something to attempt to make himself smile. Once he'd devised the plan, he'd known he wanted to carry it out with Patience who had been such an anchor for him recently. He owed her so much, and even if she didn't think so, he was going to live up to it.
He showed up at her house, dressed in a tshirt that said "I ♥ NY," a pair of denims and a fanny pack around his waist. He had no idea why they were called fanny packs as they weren't worn over one's fanny. In his hand, he held two small American flags on sticks. These would make them look like American tourists, right?
After knocking on the door, he took a deep breath and managed a smile (even if it wasn't reaching his eyes just yet) and waved the flags. If anything, Patience could get a good laugh out of the whole thing.
