Out of all the ways to travel, Maddy preferred walking the best. Flying came in a close second, but she definitely preferred methods of travel that involved being able to see the sights she might miss otherwise. Of course, walking and flying weren't always efficient, but there it was.
At the sound of the knock on her door, Maddy was pulled out of her collage reverie which was lucky as her puffskein was about to pounce on her helping of curry. "No, Madge!" Maddy scooped up the puffskein and cradled it in her arms as she went to answer the door. She should have known better than to leave open food nearby her prized pet. He--yes, it was a he--really did love to eat her food.
She answered the door, dressed in a flannel shirt and a pair of her father's old overalls (he always looked funny when he tried to blend into Muggle society) that were perfect for artistic ventures. Her grin widened at the sight of her friend and she used her free hand to wrap it around the older girl's hand and pull her into the flat welcomingly. "Ohmymerlin, you brought flowers! They're so pretty!" Maddy was easily excitable, but she figured Patience had learned that by now and still continued spending time with her. She set Madge on the arm of the sofa where he teetered onto the cushions and tottled off toward the other end in search of what Maddy suspected was the galleon she hadn't been able to find the day before.
