Patience had been avoiding the Floo since she'd been bitten. At first it had been about soot getting on her bandages, but even once the bandages were taken off, it had become a habit. She couldn't explain why, but there was something about the wildness of the fire that rushed around her that bothered her.
Apparation was a good substitute, though, for the most part. And she'd been getting even better now that she was using it more, which was probably a good thing. Not that she was worried about being attacked again, but she would certainly Apparate away much more quickly the next time her instincts told her that she might be in danger.
Landing outside of the shop, she made her way up to Maddy's flat above and knocked, already grinning. She adored all of her old housemates, but she absolutely loved Maddy, who was cheerful and bubbly and as fun as the ice cream she sold. As a little gift, she'd brought a small bouquet of flowers and sweet-smelling herbs for her friend, and worn clothes that she wouldn't mind getting paste on.
