It was surprising to Ella that she usually slept most deeply when she was with Terrence. After all, in waking hours, they could hardly keep their hands off one another, so successful sleeping was always an awe-inducing concept to her, not matter how many times in the past six years that she'd slept by him. Her deeper sleeping, though, made it slightly more difficult to wake her up, which could usually prove useful for Terrence.
She had no way of knowing how long he'd been trying to wake her up, but the feeling of his voice vibrating against the skin of her back and his fingertips expertly tracing where she knew the lines of her tattoo made her stir. She groaned incoherently, not really wanting to wake up, but she moved her head to face him without moving the rest of her body and opened her eyes a fraction. "Mm?" she murmured inquiringly, words failing her more than usual in her half-asleep state.
In the back of her mind, she wondered what time it was and if she needed to get back to her flat before Alek woke up, but even if he woke up before she got there, she knew he'd be able to fend for himself. This was good as it did not interfere with her intent to lay right where she was for the time being.
