"Yes, I can't say I'm particularly surprised," Theodore said, mouth twitching. He straightened when he finished, stowing his wand back in his pocket and his medical kit back in his bag. His mouth twitched in amusement. "Though, actually, your wound is rather tame compared to many of the injuries I've seen. Today I saw a hex that nearly turned a man's head around completely and didn't kill him - amazing he survived, really."
Not that he was trying to insult Duke, or goad him into doing something ridiculous. Though as soon as he said it, he realized it could possibly be taken that way. He'd merely been responding to the 'boring night' comment.
He regarded Duke with raised eyebrows. If it hadn't been for the fact that he'd messaged Duke and not the other way round, he might have been very suspicious of what plans he'd had for calling Theodore over; as it was, he suspected that there were ulterior motives at work, though the plans were probably half-baked at best, so far.
"Actually, yes, I was," he said. "And before you ask, no, I don't think it's appropriate for me to drink with my patient." Or do whatever else Duke might suggest, for that matter.
