"I know," Chas agreed, taking another careful sip of her tea. She could feel her stomach settling, at least enough for her to relax a bit back into her chair. "Are you?" She paused for a moment and then closed her eyes. She thought she might be able to understand why. There were times since the Battle where she'd changed into the jaguar in the locked room, knowing the animal wouldn't feel threatened. Because her thoughts were simpler that way, because it didn't hurt nearly as much. She breathed out a slow sigh and then, figuring her twin would understand, she said, "It'll make things simpler."
