"I'm glad too," she agreed, shifting closer as he curled an arm around her waist. "I think we needed to be there, to help all those people however we could." She was glad they had been, too. Even if she wasn't sure how much help she'd been, she'd seen how many lives Theo had saved and she knew how good it was that he had been at the battle.
Giving a faint 'mmm' noise as his lips pressed beneath her ear, Tracey let her hand slip under his shirt, brushing up over the bare skin of his side. She turned her head so her lips could find his neck briefly, savoring the warmth of his skin, imagining she could feel his pulse beneath her lips. She just wanted to enjoy things like this, the reminder of being alive when they'd been surrounded by so much death.
