"Patience?" If anything could cut through the darkness threatening to consume her, it was the sound of her sister's voice. Dimly she registered that Terrence had left, but Chas didn't care. She looked up to see Patience standing there, hand outstretched, as if... as if she couldn't see.
With a pained groan, Chas pushed off the wall, reached out, and grasped her sister's hand. "I'm here. I'm-" The word broke off in a sob and she drew her sister back to the wall, adding in a hoarse whisper, "I've got you. Oh god, Pace..." It was a nickname she hadn't used in years, since before all of this. Her voice was thick with emotion, and she felt so raw and exposed, she barely managed to get the words out. "What happened?"
