The one who had taken off running was quick with his wand, at least, and there had been precious little cover to find without breaking into one of the shops. He'd kept Melinda darting here and there, and she'd just managed to duck behind a wooden cart when the curses stopped. She looked up, spotted him running, and sent a Stunner after him, which missed. She cursed under her breath and stood again, chasing after him. She didn't have the element of surprise anymore, so she kept her spells silent -- it had been silly to shout them like that before.
Still, that meant they were weaker, and he must have had some kind of ward on him or a moving shield charm or something, because the few things that connected seemed to roll right off his back. Gritting her teeth, Melinda flipped her wand back so she held it reversed against her forearm (not wanting to risk breaking a second wand in as many weeks), put on a burst of speed, and tackled the man to the ground. They both tumbled, Melinda narrowly avoiding hitting her head hard on the street, but Melinda was ready for that. His shock gave her the time she needed to give him a solid Incarcerous, binding him tightly in rope from head to feet. Overzealous? Possibly. But whatever. A little out of breath, Melinda pulled herself to her feet. "Levicorpus." The man protested so she Silenced him too, and turned to head back down the street.
