The birthday belonged to both of them, just like her birthday was also with Tibby's. They were...inseparable. It was the same event. So, she had assumed it was the same with them. They were twins and quite close. Felixa simply wished to take some part in it. And she was. So whatever else, Felixa was happy. He just brought a smile to her face so easily. He looked a bit goofy, admittedly, but she liked that about him.
"I asked her when would be a good time to visit you," Felixa admitted. She had not met Melinda many times or talked with her much. Marek's twin had seemed introverted and not to have the best opinion of her, but then again, they had been discussing occlumency and a difficult topic.
However, her excitement was truly for watching him open the gift. It wasn't the fanciest quill, though it had a slightly fancier look to it than his old one. "I did not," she admitted, "I found it in Florence, at a small shop. It is nearly identical with your old wand, except for its handwriting." The witch had even tested it in the shop itself.
Felixa gave him a small kiss. "I was looking for a quill to write down simply letters, while my normal quill would write down my work. That way I don't need to change quills while I work," Felixa had him in mind as well, but she hadn't expected to find it so suddenly or easily. That was why she hadn't tried charming one for him herself, "It has a lifetime guarantee too."
