He felt the slightest bit guilty at the way she stiffened in his arms; knowing he should have announced his presence. He should have spared her the slightest hint of worry; but he had wanted nothing more then to just wrap his arms around her and forget everything for just a moment. To hold her close, with his forehead pressed into her shoulder blade, breathing in the smell of her hair, simply at peace. If only just for a moment.
He was thankful when she relaxed, smiling against her shoulder. He turned his head just to the right, pressing his cheek against the fabric of her clothes, and let his eyes rest for a moment as he exhaled out a loving, "'Ello Sunshine." He brought one hand up from her waist, turning it so it could take hold of her hand upon his arm, clutching it gently in his own.
He grinned to her as she turned towards him in his arms. He let his hands shift to rest on the small of her back, leaning into the gentle kiss. Once she pulled back his smile grew as he spoke allowed, "I'm glad to be home. With you."
And he was. While it was grand to see Harry, to get a real understanding of what lay ahead for them all, it was nothing compared to coming home just to be by her side. She meant the world to him.
"How did tonight go?" He asked, quietly, his thumb moving in circles against her back, eyes focusing in on hers.
