The Montgomery estate seemed especially empty today, with Chastity off on some trip for work. Perhaps not only for work - or so Patience was sure Chastity was hoping, and Patience hoped for her sake - since she was going with the Minister, but regardless, Patience wasn't expecting her back anytime soon. She assumed that Chastity would let her know when she returned.
Despite this, Patience was feeling slightly less lonely than she had lately. Her house was full of life - King and the kittens were inside, and King had learned the trick of batting things around to make the little felines go completely wild, a game which amused everyone involved and Patience as well. She had made cranberry and cornmeal scones, and put plenty of sugar on top as a little treat to herself, and she sprinkled a bit of cornmeal for the kittens (and King) to lick off the floor. She would clean it up later, if they didn't eat it. Aside from her furry company, she had plans with Fred tomorrow, and Felixa was on her way over.
All in all, Patience's worries were starting to ease with the lull of everyday calm. Nothing had blown up (literally or figuratively) yet, and she and Chastity were somewhat on the same page about what would happen if they did, so she allowed herself to relax.
