Colin winced slightly at the tight hold on his hips, forcing himself to look normal again a moment later. He knew Zach didn't mean it. He was scared. Being scared made you do a lot of things you didn't realize. "Weird old people sex?" It was the only part he could even think about the moment it was said. It sounded sort of amusing, but...he knew that this wasn't a particularly amusing conversation.
He nodded at Zach's words. "I'm right here," he murmured, letting himself rest against Zach. He never wanted so much for it to be okay to lie. Perhaps he could ask their Mum for forgiveness before he lied. Maybe he could ask her forgiveness after. She would understand, wouldn't she? He closed his eyes, curling against Zach even more. "I...won't." He winced at the lie, feeling guilty for it already, but he supposed it would help somehow. Just this once. It wouldn't be habit.
