Zach's father said he wanted Zach to be happy - to be happy with a wife and son, at the minimum. That didn't really involve having a boyfriend like Cedric or Colin or probably getting fucked up the ass. But Zach didn't care what his father said. He did what he pleased and kept it under the table. His father didn't know - had thought he was dating Romilda, knew he proposed to Lavender. Colin's mum...what if she rejected Colin because he was with Zach? Oh Merlin, was he going to ruin that for Colin too?
But he glanced over at Colin, confused by his statement. Zach protected him and kept him safe? What? How had Zach done that? He had even failed at teaching them to apparate. That was probably his fault too. Maybe Justin and Rose would have gotten away, still be free, if he had taught them how to apparate instead of being so fucking selfish and snogging Colin and stuff instead. It had been so easy...but that didn't make it the right thing.
"Uh, tea, sure," Zach replied, looking up. How had Colin gotten the mayonnaise on his cheek? The boy looked adorable, which just made Zach feel like more of a bastard. "There's a spell," he murmered, putting Hector down for a moment. The fridge opened, the celery putting itself on a new cutting board. And a knife steadily chopped it into little bits.
"Um, yea," Zach looked back down at Hector. "Then you'll have more...pictures, um, of...me." And maybe he'd see how much better he was without Zach. Maybe he'd be able to see what an ass Zach was. "And uh, top shelf next to the sink."
