He'd come back from the cemetery when it got dark. There were so many flowers there now, but it didn't make it any better. How many were there over the last however many years? Cedric was gone, and Zach didn't know what came of the afterlife or any of that. He wasn't sure he believed in it. But it didn't matter if Cedric knew, though that would only make it hurt more - to know Cedric knew what an ass he'd been.
And Cedric was more important than the rest of it, than the politics, and all the ... crazy stuff that had been in that book Uncle Tewdric had written. And his uncle had died and done a lot to protect it, so Zach had done so. He didn't really get the whole options thing. Zach had read about the potion, and he still had gone to his checkup and such, but he still felt the same.
But anyway, Colin had said he was coming over. And he had more pictures of Cedric. Zach sighed to himself, again. There was the knock at the door, and Zach still remembered what he had told Colin about coming over, so he made sure to answer it in time, as always. But the best he could give Colin was a weak smile that broke. Honestly, Zach had no clue why Colin even liked him.
