Theodore was a very neat and organized person, himself, and if his office had ever looked like this, it would have given him an enormous headache. However, he knew that organization was not as important to other people, and as long as it worked for them, he wasn't going to say anything about it. He knew that Hannah was stressed, but from what he'd seen, she was holding it all together very well, especially when she had to be under the influence of her hormones, as well.
He would have normally interpreted her question as small talk, and answered accordingly, but something told him that it wasn't. He was already watching her and listening to her somewhat more closely than usual, in the hopes that he would see any negative reactions coming.
"I am in a bit of difficulty, unfortunately," he said. "My father - left me some very unpleasant information regarding my circumstances. I assure you I did not intend for this to happen, but I'm worried that it may become... somewhat dangerous for me to be in contact with you, because of the loss of my father's protection." He didn't know if he could explain it any better than that. He was rather hoping not to give her too much information, in case the information itself was dangerous for her, but he would explain if necessary, to ensure that there were no misunderstandings about his intentions.
