This was not the first time that Marek had been needed to help Melinda feel less socially awkward. Because of that, he wasn't terribly worried by her response to having company; he wasn't reading it as a response to Felixa personally. Once he'd taken care of the coat, he returned and grinned at them both, running a hand through his hair.
"All good things, don't worry," he said, which was also a standard response to that sort of thing. Although he hadn't actually told Melinda very much at all, so hopefully that would prevent any questions. "Shall we sit down? What's the easiest way to do this?"
He really didn't think the focus needed to be too much on them meeting for the first time, although he would go along with more socializing if they wanted to. Given Melinda's usual preference to be a social recluse, he very much doubted that was the case.
