Felixa had been drinking more of her gin and tonic when she felt the look. Her eyes hadn't been able to see him through her glass, but the witch stopped drinking a sip earlier than she would have, barely having wet her mouth with it. The glass was gently returned to the table, as she listened. Honestly, Marek was quite right. Felixa had been getting to know him at the sped she usually got to know people, which was relatively slowly. She wasn't one to open up to a stranger on a whim, even if drunk, and becoming her friend took time and effort, on both parties' parts. Until this conversation, she wouldn't have said the balance of knowledge was particularly unfair, if unbalanced. But what he had told her in his words and lack of them...
Part of her was curious to find out what Marek thought of her, from what he knew. But the conversation was more serious than that, and her curiosity was not the most important element on the line. Felixa often dealt with dead kittens over the years, and a few more in this instance was warranted. Yet, for all its seriousness, Felixa looked right back at Marek, eye to eye. She wasn't frightened or trying to present a face that was not her own.
That question was a difficult one to answer for anyone, and the witch was not about to start on the philosophy behind that inquiry. The second one was, in her opinion, easier. But each question was to be dealt with in its time. Yes, it was perhaps stereotypical of her, as a wandmaker, but it was the element Felixa had to explain herself and not sound like a fortune cookie.
"My first wand Hippogriff feather with chimaera scale fragment, 11”, inflexible, Dogwood. Hippogriff feathers are versatile with most kinds of magic while demanding strong respect in order to function. Chimaera scales are more powerful, at least as stubborn, but incredibly stable. However, they can be difficult to control. Only rigid wands are harder to master than inflexible ones, and with such powerful cores, inflexible wands have incredible power behind them. Dogwood is hard, strong, and resilient to most anything," the witch had to pause at that. Even in its case, the abrupt fall from a horse had broken it. Even now, she missed its presence. "It was also once used for making daggers."
She then pulled out her current wand, resting it between the fingers of both her hands. "This wand is Boomslang venom with chimaera scale fragment, 11½", rigid, Redwood. Raw boomslang venom is dangerous to deal with, to the point Mr. Ollivander will not do so, despite how powerful it is, at Transfiguration in particular. As before, the chimaera scale increases its raw power, makes it more stubborn, and also stable. This wand is even more powerful than my last, due to the cores and that it is rigid. Further, redwood excels at all wand-based magics but does not bond at those who excel at other magics, such as potions," she finished explaining, with some detail but relatively simply, about her wand. Having made it, she knew it quite well.
"Wands choose the witch or wizard whose nature, talents, and values match well with it. Whatever words I say only matter if you do trust me, but my wands show you who I am that no words can affect," Felixa explained, "You can trust me, but it is up to you if you will."
