It was very rarely a good thing for Draco's Mark to burn, summoning him to the Dark Lord's presence immediately. And Draco supposed it was just his luck that it would happen during the week he attempted to take a vacation with Pansy, although they'd managed to make it almost all the way to the end without interruption. He'd had to leave her in France on Friday night, though he was comforted by the fact that if something terrible was going on at home, at least she'd be out of the country already.
The news was not at all what he expected. A Death Eater, murdered in his own home. And not just any Death Eater, but the father of one of his best friends, a man that Draco had respected almost as much as his father. It shocked him, and he let Pansy know that he would be gone for the night. He spent some time with Theodore, attempting to help his friend by looking into his mind for the memory of what had happened, but it was really and truly gone. Obliviation, then. Draco could guess at what Theodore's involvement in it all had been, and had offered his theory to his friend, which had oddly seemed to ease his mind.
He'd spent Saturday morning interrogating Blaine Borgin, the main suspect in Mr. Nott's murder, who had not been particularly cooperative. And, unfortunately, since the man was a Death Eater, Draco could not justify using harsh measures without serious reason. Thanks to his skill in Legilimency, however, he had confirmed Borgin's alibi and his innocence in regards to the murder. That left the two missing Death Eaters as the main suspects on Draco's list, and he couldn't get his hands on them, so he reported back to Theo and returned to France.
Stepping out of the Floo, he looked around for Pansy. He could imagine that she had been worried, though he'd kept in touch and let her know when he'd be returning. He hadn't slept much since leaving, and was hoping to get at least one more day of vacation in before needing to return to England. "Pans?"
