Theodore had not planned on charging her an extraordinary amount even before his circumstances had changed, but if he hadn't been taking time off from the clinic, he likely would have needed to split the job with one or more of his colleagues to ensure that they covered all of their patients. It would have been doable, but it would have been more expensive, since not all healers had the luxury of not really needing the money that they earned for their job.
He smiled gently at her when she teared up, understanding that she was stressed and emotional because of her father, and possibly somewhat sick to boot. He didn't comment on it, not wanting to embarrass her.
"I can arrange for him to be discharged as soon as there is a serviceable room ready for him," he said. "Setting up a temporary care unit shouldn't be difficult. I can schedule regular visits, and set up spells to alert me if his health changes and requires immediate attention."
