"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Abbott," Theodore said with a smile. He offered a hand to shake, which was partly polite, and partly to gauge how much strength his patient still retained. He held his wand in his other hand, for the purposes of diagnostic charms, which he began to perform as soon as they had finished the greeting. As he worked, he explained, "I prefer to do my own examination before reading patient files. Don't worry, it won't hurt, or require any effort on your part."
