Tracey almost said sorry when he said 'don't apologize' (a stupid habit), but stopped herself and squeezed his hand back in reply. Nodding along as he explained, she said, "Yes, it's been one night. You never came home from work yesterday. I waited all night, but-" Then she shook her head. That wasn't important and she certainly didn't want him to feel guilty for something he couldn't control. "Forget that, it was out of your control. I'm just glad you're alright... or at least in one piece."
Pausing, she leaned in to press the faintest of kisses to the edge of his mouth where that smirk had appeared. "So... what happens now, Theo?"
